 | Ace (the Creator) | | 2yrs | How do Dividends Work? | Each Stock has a Dividend Reserve. When a Stock is traded, 1% of the transaction amount is deposited into it's Dividend Reserve.
When a team wins a regular season game, it deducts 25% of the losing team's Dividend Reserve, and adds that amount to it's own Dividend Reserve. Then, 10% of the winning team's Dividend Reserve is paid out to the current shareholders of that Stock.
Shareholders of the losing team will not receive a Dividend Payment for that game.
In the case of a tie, no Dividends will be transferred or paid out.
Shareholders will not receive a Dividend Payment if the amount is less than $0.01. | |

 | draube | | 2yrs | Re: How do Dividends Work? | I believe the quarterly dividend formula is simply 2.5% of the dividend pot. If a team's dividend pot is $10,000 the quarterly dividend would be $250 which would be divided by shares owned. If you own 1% of the total shares owned by traders you will receive a $2.50 quarterly dividend. | |
 | Hashbotz | | 2yrs | Re: How do Dividends Work? | Is there an area where users can track the amounts being added and removed from a team's dividend reserve over time? I'd like to see how they're changing and when they're changing. Thanks! (forgive me if this is posted somewhere already, just joined yesterday. Love the idea of this market and would love to see it grow) | |
 | Paul Bleier | | 2yrs | Re: How do Dividends Work? | We track the data but it's currently not displayed. It will be shown in future versions of the site and also available via the ASM API. | |
 | ASM Admin | | 2yrs | Re: How do Dividends Work? | You must be holding a particular SportShare at the point the quarterly or match dividend is settled to your account. Sometimes this can range from a few minutes to a few hours after the qualifying event. Check your account history before selling (if that is your intention) as these credits will not be applied retroactively. | |
